It's July and things are heating up in northeastern Oklahoma.
Mid-month saw temps in the triple digits. We get out early
to work the dogs and shade up until it starts cooling off in the

Neighbor Jack Warden stops by on "Jim." Betty Tolbert, Welch, OK comes over with her nice heeler, Blue. Ben's Lue brings in the goats to work. Colt gets another go at the goats. Study buddy Bill Aldinger and wife Mary came over to celebrate the 4th. Study buddy Matt Fullbright not only cowboys but can barbeque too! Dr. Liz Pokorny, Matt Fullbright and Mary Aldinger lighting "snakes." We had a sizzling time on the 4th. Hope yours was safe and fun. We have some handsome billy goats this season. Both of these are quite the characters. Our study group night out at the local steak house. Seems like we socialized alot this month! Fred Wheat, Parsons, KS runs goats, sheep and cattle. Ben drove up to get some Katahdins - hair sheep. Big Goat checks out the Katahdins. Church picnic and trail ride. What a glorious sunset. That's Keeper in the right hand corner. Pastor Mark Bishop, Heber Springs, AR stopped in to visit with Ben and check out dogs. Watch out, Pastor Mark is a good hand with a dog. He recently won this nice dog box at a cattle trial in Mississippi. MacKenzie Nix, Darvin and Tonya's daughter, helps out in the office. Rawhide is "supervising"?? Yippee, the grandkids came to visit. Mom Karen, Dad Blaine Means and little Joseph with 7 year old A.J. Ben noticed a Tate Ranch heifer got in the wrong place. He moves her back to the herd. Grandpa gives Joseph his very first haircut. Yep, "Grandpa" is a real barber too. He can do anything. (Yep, Leslie wrote this:>)) David Clark, Baxter Springs, KS stops by with grandson Michael. David runs pairs and trains bird dogs. Leslie and A.J. hit the saddle every morning.
