Busy Last
Few Days |

Our friend Edna
Grabow headed home Tuesday morning the 20th. She
loaded up their spiffy new dog trailer with dogs. She
hauled home the two Kelpie pups - Smooch and Wiggle.
They go back to some of Grabow's old breeding.
However, we did
get all the young pups worked before Edna left. Below

Monday was a busy
day! Above the cowboy Junction Singers during Monday night
church services, and above right Ben getting liquid feed north
of Welch. Below left is our morning house full - seated
with backs to you are Glenn and Sally Eicher from St. James,
Missouri picking up their Sissy female. Ben with the
bandana, then Trey Bean, Aubrey Bean on Grandad Bill Smock's
lap. Bill and his family drove up from Paden, Oklahoma
with a couple of Border Collie females. Bill runs some
momma cows. Aubrey is in the first grade. He was off
for Martin Luther King Day and we heard McDonald's was their
first stop on the way back home. |

We had a great day
Saturday the 17th. We made a circle with Edna up to
Chetopa, Kansas to Joplin, down to Seneca, Missouri around
through Grove, Oklahoma back through Afton where we stopped in
on our Cowboy Junction study buddies Bill and Mary Aldinger and
their Horse Creek Tack western store. We went on to Vinita
and showed Edna around Cowboy Junction, having supper at their
Chuckwagon Restaurant. Edna liked the chocolate/peanut
butter pie. So did Leslie as she shared! |

Bill and Mary
have a terrific selection of saddles and your equestrian
needs. Bill is a saddle repairman and as near as
Ben can figure in looking at Bill's work, he makes those
saddles better than new! |

We met Mary's
dog Peppy who showed us around the store and bumped into
"Wylie Coyote" who gets dressed seasonally.
Bill and Mary
are planning to retire and the store is for sale if you're
looking. |

Friday the 16th.
New kids. This time the first-time nanny had twins and
managed to feed
them herself - yipee!!!! Keeper bringing
up the training calves as the sun sets. And
below Ben
broke down and bought two hay rings and set out bale #4 and #5
for
the winter. He's still working on bale #1
feeding the goats.
