Bill Smock, Bob Brison, Ron Collins' Family

Good Morning, Oklahoma, January 31st.  B-r-r-r-r-r-r!!!!!!!!!

Ron, Charlie and Jancy Collins, Mammoth Springs, Arkansas

Ron, Charlie and Jancy Collins loaded up dogs and drove over early Friday morning the 30th.  They pulled in mid-morning. Ed Hamersley arrived a little after them with a pickup full of dogs too. Sun was shining but it was c-h-i-l-l-y!!  You'd think we could pick warmer temps for "playing" with the dogs.

Everyone spent the first couple of hours with cookies, beverage and pedigrees.

Pictured right l-r Ben, Charlie, Jancy and Ron

and lots of good old Border Collie bloodlines.

Ron and Charlie met in Kansas while both worked for a large feedlot at Garden City.  Between them, they have handled tens of thousands of head of cattle.  They have a cow/calf operation. Charlie, soon to be a registered nurse, also is the nurse for any sick cattle.  She got lots of experience at the feedlot.  Ron has been using and raising Border Collies for many years and has kept some of Ben's good old cattle working bloodlines.

Ed brought Ben, "One's" one puppy J Twila and Leslie work all day in an office with dog foot-warmers and as you can see from the picture right - Twila loves dogs!  She snuggled with the new pup.  Her family has a new "big" Lab pup, Bullet, they adopted.

Left, Jancy, 3 yrs old, points out which dog in the run is her "Sunshine" dog.  Jancy also has a horse named Flicka and ropes!  Below, Charlie working her dog Ruby.  Ruby hasn't seen goats but a couple times and asks Charlie "How high she thinks a goat can jump!"  With the proper incentive, of course.

Below left, Ron working his good three-year old male dog.  He said this is a good cow/calf dog.  Right, Ed working a young male dog he brought over to leave with Ben.  Charlie also left Ruby for Ben to finish out.

Bill Smock, Paden, Ok and Bob Brison, Henryetta, OK

Bill Smock drove up Thursday morning the 28th with his cousin Bob Brison.  Ben enjoyed swapping stories with these to fellas who know what they are talking about.  A lot of laughter coming from the kitchen this morning!

They slipped outside to work a dog or two before heading back down the road to home.  Ben, Bob (center) and Bill (right).

Good morning Oklahoma!!!  Keeper playing in what's left of the snow!
