Rick Cole and Clay Mahaney

Clay Mahaney, Tahlequah, Oklahoma drove up Thursday, April 8th.  Clay needed a dog to help him with his cattle and recently acquired "Blaze" a nice Border Collie female.  Blaze has been trained for "agility" and more recently had a little work done on sheep.  She didn't hesitate when Ben put her on the goats or the cattle.

Besides his farm, Clay is a Tahlequah policeman.  We love Oklahoma - so much history and recent enough that many native Oklahomans have lived it.  Tahlequah is the capital of the Cherokee Nation.  Clay's mother is Cherokee and she is fluent in their native language.

Left Ben using his Kate to show Clay directions and commands.  Above Blaze working the goats and Clay and Ben.  It was a beautiful day .

Lazy day for the babies and babysitter.  Thursday is sale day in Welch.  Ben loaded up a couple of the bigger ones.  Sale day is a big attraction - lunch at the terrific sale barn cafe!!!

Sunday, April 4th, Ben drove over to Rick and Marquerite Cole's at Nowata to pick up Dave Mollehour's "Teddy" who's in for training. Rick is on the board of the Sundowner Stockdog Association at Coleman and was on his way back from a cattle dog trial.

Teddy says HI!
