October is a busy month!!

Visitors and the Wild West Veterinary Conference

The American Veterinary Chiropractic Association annual meeting and board meetings were in conjunction with the Wild West Veterinary Conference in Reno, Nevada October 8 - 12.  Leslie was working like crazy to get ready and Ben was right there with her burning the midnight oils.  He wouldn't want it to get out that he knows how to punch holes in documents for 3-ring binders and collate them...

Ben held down the fort while Leslie and AVCA Executive Secretary, Twila Garrett flew to Reno.  Leslie had planned to drive up to Roger and Marg Urricelqui's ranch in northern California on that Sunday if it worked out - it didn't.  So, we're hoping the two of us can make a trip that direction one day.

Fred Wheat of Parsons, Kansas drove down to see Ben.  He was looking for a sheep dog and Jet, the young Border Collie female fit the bill.  Don Richards (pictured right) of Grove, Oklahoma drove up Wednesday, October 15th, to see the Kelpies and talk dogs.  He's worked Catahoulas.

Ed Hamersley came over from Walker, Missouri with three dogs in tow.  He and Ben spent Friday afternoon the 17th trying out dogs.  Ed hauled two home plus "Big Foot" a young male Border Collie of Ben's and left a young female for Ben to train.

Above Ed works Dolly.

Ben heads out before daylight tomorrow (Saturday the 18th) for the RRCDA Jackpot at Enid Oklahoma 3rd Annual Chisholm Trail Beef Expo.  He's hauling dogs for some of the folks.  KJ Stewart, Woodward Oklahoma, is expecting delivery of these guys pictured.  (There are 5 of them, but they didn't stand still long enough to be in the same picture!) Ben had fun "trying" them all out on the goats.

He liked about 4 of them....ya just never know how many pups he'll be bringing home.  Most will be grown up, trained and sold.
