Enid Jackpot, Penny King

Ben and Laura place at Enid

Ben got home pretty good time Saturday night from the RRCDA Jackpot at Enid Oklahoma 3rd Annual Chisholm Trail Beef Expo. His pockets were full.  He won 2nd in the Novice with his young Border Collie, Lena.  Laura Stimatze had a young dog (owned by Don and Pansy Bell) entered on Saturday and placed third.

Penny King, Quapaw, Oklahoma

Penny drove over Monday morning to pick up Buck, a male Kelpie, she and Bob traded for with KJ Stewart.  Ben worked Buck a couple of days.  Said he's a nice young dog (just over a year) and will be real useable.

Things have been sort of quiet on the home front.  More so now that Ben found the hot wire had a short.  Leslie and Keeper (below) spent part of Saturday running cattle back to the pasture.  This morning (Monday) when the cattle just walked into the hay bale area through the hot wire, Ben realized there was more to it.  Between Ben and Keeper, we got them out of the hay bales without too much "ring around the bale" antics.  The cattle do develop an attitude plenty quick when they sense the hot wire is off!  Never underestimate them.
