Ben and Ed are off to the
cattle sale.
Wednesday's are cattle
sale day in Vinita. Ed H. (Walker, Missouri) drove over to go to the sale with
Ben. He stuck in a couple pups, Willie and Sorrowful, to
put on the goats. These dog guys just can't help but put
the pups out every once in awhile and the haulin's good for them.

Ivan Rule of California
Tuesday the 10th we
got to meet Ivan Rule of California when he stopped by.
Ivan runs several hundred head of sheep and goats.
Uses Border Collies, but more recently added some Kelpies.
Ivan and Ben share
Lamar, Colorado roots. Ivan was in Colorado, Oklahoma
and Missouri to attend a daughter's wedding and visit other
family members.
As always, we were
so glad for a in-person visit from a phone acquaintance.

Saturday was Goat Day!
To brush hog or buy
goats.....let me see.... Looks like "buy goats" won!
Ben has hooked up with Spencer Huckaby, 40 years his junior.
Spencer, from White Oak, Oklahoma, is quite a trader.
We all ended up at the sale in Coffeyville, Kansas Saturday
the 7th.
Spencer ended up
selling half of the ones he bought before he got them
loaded. We hauled over to his place after so Ben could
choose his new nannies at leisure. |
