Max, Art and Jamie stop in.

We have the best neighbors!

Jamie, Leesa, Mya, Jacob and Sidney Martin live across the road.  Jamie works for UPS and often personally delivers our packages with care on days when he isn't driving a route.  Which he did this morning, Monday August 4th. We've been very blessed with our "neighborhood."  We like to tell folks about all our great neighbors!

Art Bryant and Tom Greer of Richland, Missouri

Art drove over with Tom Greer, Sunday afternoon, August 3rd.  Art was picking up Pudge and Lucy.  Tom was dropping off Snip.  They got held up for an hour on I-44 construction there at Joplin.  If you're headed that way, allow extra time.

They came bearing gifts from Art and Nancy's garden.  Yummmm....cucumbers, tomatoes and peppers.  Literally speaking, we are in hog heaven!

What a terrific time it was.  The key word here is T-E-A-M.  The digital camera didn't get very good pictures, so there's a lot of blur, but you'll be able to experience how "fast" things were moving and notice that teamwork outweighed everything else.  As we've mentioned before, the best part of the ranch rodeos is that they are pure family!

We have to mention our experience afterwards with a tailpipe that decided to crack.  The noise was deafening when Ben fired up the old Buick after the rodeo.  We made it the half mile or so to the Wal-Mart parking lot.  A family who didn't know us drove up to see if we needed assistance.  Ben told them a little wire would take care of things until we got home, but they didn't have any.  We thanked them and told them we'd be fine.  Not 5 minutes later it seemed they were back with a piece of wire.  What struck us was not only did this family offer help, they meant it!

Thursday, July 31 is a busy day!

Ben was off to the Welch sale with 6 head of steers.  Max Nidiffer, our neighbor, stopped by with his Haflingers and wagon.  He took Leslie for a fun drive.  This nice pair of coming 5 year old geldings, harnesses and the great wagon Max built, are for sale since Max and Ruth will be moving to town.  While we'd love to have this nice broke team (Max has been driving horses forever), we can't quite see that we'd use them enough.  Sorry we didn't get pictures but the camera was charging for the ranch rodeo that's tonight at the fairgrounds!

If anyone is interested in Max's team, let us know and we'll be happy to furnish you with his phone number.
