January 2008 - As you can see, clean-up from the ice storm is still going on, but we're gaining.  Ben works at it almost every day.  Goose hunting has been good.  Naw, Ben doesn't goose hunt.  Neighbors Jamie and his son Jacob do.  Dr. Liz Fullbright, Cross 7 Vet, got a new Standard Poodle pup.  We've had some folks in and out looking at dogs and dropping dogs off for training. The Martin Herron family, Quapaw, Oklahoma took home Brazos.  Ben's started Angel and Tom early.  Tom already went to Gary McGee, Vinita, Oklahoma and Gary's using him on his goat herd.  Lambing has started and the temperatures continue to go up and down.  Ben's started throwing on a green log or two from the recently cut wood.  We've been through a lot of wood this winter.  But we figure each day gets us that much closer to spring.  We hope all of you are faring well, too.

There's more than one use for a good lariat.  Ben "roped" the wood pile each time, "dallied" and off he went, dragging the piles down into the pasture.  The goats think its the best smorgasbord ever.

Above left, the new Cross 7 resident canine.  Dr. Liz Fullbright's new Standard Poodle pup.  His name at the moment is "Velcro."  Above right, early morning goose hunters, neighbors Jamie Martin, son Jacob with Snoopy in tow and Jacob's friend.

Ben recently started Angel, a Hunter x Patch pup, even though she's only 11 months.  Angel's for sale.  Below her mother Patch mixes it up with the calves.  Both favor the heel.

Above the AVCA mail-out supervisor and right one of the hardworking office dogs.  It's a dog's (cat's?) life.

Bonnie's sharpening her game.  Lambing started the middle of the month.  So far she's got 3 sets of twins and a single to watch over.

The first set of twins.  Sydnee Martin was thrilled with Santa Claus' four-wheeler.  Santa sure does know how to pack his sleigh.  Ben wants to get on his list.

Lena brought up all the pasture calves and shoved 'em in the corral.

Above the Martin Herron family, Quapaw, Oklahoma, watches Ben work Lena and Patch.  They purchased the nice Brazos pup pictured above right.  Sounds like they have plenty of cattle work on the ranch they manage.

Horse'n around.  The last of the debris in the dog pen area got hauled away.

GREG HIGHSMITH'S CD.  Greg Highsmith's long awaited CD.  Leslie (with Ben's input, of course) designed the cover.    It's very well done and Greg can sing.  If you are interested in ordering a copy, all proceeds go to the Cowboy Junction Christian School, contact the church at 918-256-4180.  They are $15 each.  Greg is the 1994 International Champion Auctioneer.
