Ben's got some favorite calf ropers.  The Sherrick boys, Welch, Oklahoma. Left Ben talking with Tyler Sherrick before he ropes at the Craig County Youth Rodeo competition, Vinita, July 5th.

July, First of August 2008 - It's been a busy summer with some ups and downs. We appreciate your calls, questions and training tape purchases. We want to remember our small group family members Bill and Mary Aldinger of Afton, Oklahoma who went home to the Lord the last of July. Folks, thank you for the training dogs you've brought. We saw a span of 100 degree days and lots of humid days.  Ben was up before daylight to work dogs. Many of you fared the heat to stop in to work dogs.  We had a fun 4th at the Vasquez calf fry with friends and neighbors. Seems like summer is soon turning into fall.  The kids in our neighborhood started school the first and second week of August.  The Will Rogers Memorial Rodeo is coming up the end of August and will also be a memorial this year to his nephews Bob and Clem McSpadden who passed away in July.

Left Neighbor Dylan Kessel with his nephew Zayden stopped in to visit. Above and below, remembering our small group family members, Bill and Mary Aldinger.

Bruce and Victoria Vasquez, Welch, hosted a 4th of July Get-Together.  This is part of the group that assisted in overseeing the calf fry cooking. Good cowboy eatin' and company.

Left Paul Mandel, Vinita picked up Zip. He was supplying the bucking bulls that week for the youth rodeo at the county fair.  Above Ben had a load of ram lambs for the Diamond, Missouri sale first of August.

Neighbor Allen Sanders dumping the bales he hauled over for us.  Thanks Allen, that was slick.

Just a reminder this is gorgeous Oklahoma - Cow Country !

Leslie took Chic for a spin early morning during the cold spell (under 95 degrees).  Keeper ran point.  Ben wanted folks to notice the mounting block.  We're moving up from the 5 gallon bucket.

Above it's puppy try-out day.  Border Collie puppy 1, Border Collie puppy 2 and Tiger, who's a couple weeks younger, give the goats a go.

Above Bill Sanders, Allen Sanders, Tiger and Ben admire Allen's new flock of Katahdins.  Right was a visit by none other than Texas' own "Hannah" Sagen "Montana" Sturtz.  She was helpin' dad Steve ramrod dogs when they stopped by the end of July.

Left the Cowboy Roofer. Above Ben visits with Lynn Oakley of Chelsea, Oklahoma. Mr. Oakley worked his line of McNab Cross cattle dogs. His dogs have gathered a lot of rough cattle over the years.

Tyler Sherrick catches his calf at the CCYR in Vinita, OK. That's brother Dillon on the buckskin.

Above the office 'Cat' shaded up during the hot days.  Big Goat and Nana fight the flies.  We were sure they were gonna cook themselves in those hot tires.

Above left, Leslie took Colt for a run in the pasture. Right - Lena drives some wayward goats home. They came from a mile and a half away.

Left, Ben (red shirt) checked this 'horse' out at the youth rodeo, but decided to keep on lookin' as this one was about a 'hand' short.  Above is the new house kitten. Adopted critters are never in the plans, are they?
