Johnny delivers the
hay we contracted back in the spring. Just
in time for our first snow. |
|
Ben's brother Bernard
drove over from Lockwood, MO. They spent
part of the day checking out the "zippy" car.
Bernard farms and is a rural mail carrier. |
|
The backdoor tree died
this last year, so Ben has a "close" source of
firewood. We're
still in a drought.
The pond has turned into a giant mud puddle and is
about that shallow. |

October and
November were busy with the
American Veterinary Chiropractic Association.
Above left, examiner review during
certification examinations at NEO A&M College
in Miami, OK. that kept both Ben and
Leslie hopping. Above right, Leslie with
Drs. Rick Kauffman (CO), Ines Wecker (Germany)
and Nicole Schumann (Germany). Left
Darlene and Jerry Sanborn drove Jim Fanham
(seated), long-time Kelpie breeder, up from
Florence, AZ to see Leslie. Jim has sisters to
Slingshot and a Kate (Ben) x Slingshot son.
They were all at the AVCA annual conference
and meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona. |

Ben works "Whip"
(Rowdy x
Lena) after the big snow. Whip
knows how to make snow fly ! Whip belongs to
Tally Coon from Wyoming. He'll be ready to
go home the first of the year. |
|
Slingshot's been
working since he came home at 6 1/2 weeks from
Richard and Edna Grabow's, Douglas, Wyoming.
He's a double bred Hipshot/Emma/Scoop for
those of you who know the old Kelpies. |

Perch watching the
cattle break through the ice to get water.
We also lost one
of the members of our small group the end of
November. John E. Hoodenpyle, 52,
saddle-maker, husband, father and grandfather.
He and wife, Karen, lived a couple miles south
of us. You may recall that everyone got
together to bale hay for them earlier this
summer.
